Calamity Jane Comes to Life at the Pioneer Village

Calamity Jane comes to life. At 10 a.m. she will entertain the Saturday audience at 10:30 a.m. with stories about life with Wild Bill Hickok, her adventures at South Pass City and how she came to be called Calamity J. Lynne Swanson presents a first-person characterization of Nellie Nielson, a "Rosie the Riveter" still living today in Cheyenne. Her story illuminates many changes for women during the World War II era, as well as the long-term impact of the war on American society.
