National Women’s History Museum Pursues Site on the National Mall

A once-in-a lifetime opportunity for a building ON the National Mall has opened to The National Women's History Museum (NWHM). Please help us ensure that women's contributions are recognized.
The National Women’s History Museum (NWHM), founded in 1996, is a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational institution dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and celebrating the diverse historic contributions of women, and integrating this rich heritage fully into our nation's history.
Until legislation passes in Congress designating a permanent museum in Washington, D.C., the NWHM promotes women's history through its temporary exhibits, special events, Cyber Museum, and online educational materials.
What's New?
NWHM is pleased to announce its newest Coalition member, Soroptimist International of the Americas. To read more about them, go here.
On March 6, NWHM hosted "First But Not the Last: Women Who Ran for President" at the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum. The panelists included a historian, professor and two former campaign managers of women's presidential campaigns. C-Span covered the lively discussion on women’s roles in politics. Keep checking the C-Span listings to see when the program will air.
A new article by NWHM Board Member Doris Weatherford has been posted. The article, entitled "Prehistory", is available here.
